ASTHMA
Asthma is a very common respiratory disease, it affects the trachea and bronchial tubes by becoming inflamed and plugged with mucus. This causes the airways to narrow, restricting the amount of air going to the lungs, and makes it very difficult to breathe. Asthma can occur in anyone but is very common in children and young adults.
Typical symptoms of an asthma attack are coughing, wheezing, tight chest, difficulty breathing.
Asthma can be caused due to an allergy caused by weather conditions, food, drugs, perfumes, and other irritants. Allergies to dust are most common.

Home Remedies For Asthma:

· Steam bath, hot footbath, hot hipbath and sunbath.
· Honey kept under the nose of the asthma patient improves breathing.
· Garlic cloves mixed in 30gms of milk is good.
· Teaspoon of turmeric in milk 2-3 times a day is very beneficial.
· A teaspoon of roots of karela plant mixed with equal amount of honey or juice of tulsi leaves given once every night for one month is an excellent medicine.
· A teaspoon of fresh ginger juice, mixed with cup of methi + water & honey to taste is an excellent medicine for asthma.
· During attack, mustard oil mixed with a little camphor(kapur) should be massaged over the back of the chest.
· Drink water kept in the copper vessel overnight.
· If exercise triggers asthma attacks, cut back the amount of salt in your diet and take 2,000 mg. of Vitamin C one hour before your workout.
· Regular fasting once a week, fresh air, breathing exercises, light exercises and correct posture helps in treatment of asthma.
