• Athlete’s foot is a common dermatitis of the webs of the toes and soles of the feet.

• Athlete’s foot may cause foot itching, burning, pain, and scaling.
• It can be treated with antifungal medications that are available over the counter, when the cause is fungus.
• Keeping the feet dry by using cotton socks and breathable shoes can help prevent athlete’s foot.
• The medical name for athlete’s foot caused by a fungus is tinea pedis.

HOME REMEDIES FOR ATHLETE’S FOOT

6. Cinnamon
• A good soak in a cinnamon tea foot bath will help slow down the fungus.
• Boil 8 to 10 broken cinnamon sticks in 4 cups water, and then simmer for five minutes.
• Let steep for another 45 minutes.
• Soak your feet for 15 to 30 minutes.
• Repeat daily, as needed.

7. Lemon
• This remedy will help you in the sweaty foot-odor removal.
• Squeeze the juice from a lemon and mix it with 2 ounces water.
• Rinse your feet with the lemon water.

8. Tea
• The tannic acid in tea is soothing.
• It helps to dry the foot, and helps kill the fungus.
• Make a foot soak by putting 6 black tea bags in 1 quart warm water.

9. Salt
• Soak your infected foot in warm salt water, using 1 teaspoon salt for each cup of water, for 10 minutes.

• Never wear the same pair of socks more than once without washing them first.

• Keep your feet dry, and use over-the-counter treatments to clear your infection quickly.

• Wash your feet twice a day with soap and water.
• Go barefoot or wear sandals or open-toed shoes whenever you can, when not in a moist environment.
