What is Bloating?
• Bloating is a general swelling in any part of the body; specifically it is experienced in the abdominal area.

Home Remedies for Bloating

6. Ginger
• Take a small slice of ginger and boil it with a cup of water.
• Allow it to boil for few minutes.
• Strain the mixture later and let it to cool down.
• Consume this solution 3-4 times in a day.
• It is a preventive as well as a curative remedy for bloating.
• Drinking regular cup of tea prepared by mixing a crushed piece of ginger is also very effective.
• Add ginger as spice in cooking.
• This provides relief from the problem by digesting food properly and excessive gas production.
• Soak a piece of ginger with a teaspoon of lemon.
• Allow it to stay for an hour.
• Add salt to it and consume this with meals.

7. Apple cider vinegar
• Mix two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar with a glass of water.
• Sip this mixture during the meals.
• This can also be consumed after meals too.

8. Cinnamon
• Take a teaspoon of cinnamon and ground them.
• Add it to a glass of water and boil the mixture for few minutes.
• Add a teaspoon of honey and consume this after cooling.

• Chewing mint leaves after meals or with meals soothes gastrointestinal tract.
• It controls production of gas during digestion.

• Taking a probiotic supplement or eating foods with probiotics, such as pineapples will help this problem.
• Probiotics replenish beneficial intestinal bacteria.
• It also helps keep your colon clean.

11. Dill Pickles
• Eat one dill pickle daily.
• Take a teaspoonful of pickle juice.
• Pickle juice has the same effect that gripe water has on a baby.

12. Lemon juice

• Avoid carbonated drinks
• Eat foods which are seedless and have been peeled
• Eat food that is cooked properly

Other dietary precautions
• Avoid chewing a lot of gum
• Sucking on hard candy could produce similar effects in your GI tract.
• If you experience bloating after eating rice or wheat, you should avoid eating them.
• A person could experience bloating after eating yogurt or any other milk products if he or she has lactose intolerance.
• Give up smoking as this also causes a lot of inhaling of gas and air.
