1. Genital Herpes Symptoms
• Pain and itchiness in the genital area.

• Formation of scabs on the affected area of the skin.
• Sores that erupt mainly on the vaginal area, anus, cervix or buttock in women and in men, the affected areas are on the penis, buttocks, scrotum, anus and thighs.
• Burning sensation while urinating.
• Swollen nymph nodes in the groin area.

2. Cold Sores Symptoms
• Blisters on the lips.
• Difficulty in speaking, eating and swallowing.
• Fever.

Home Remedies for Herpes

1. Ice
• Rub ice on the infected skin for few minutes; say about 10 to 15 minutes.
• This will soothe the skin.
• It will relieve the skin from itchiness, pain and discomfort caused by herpes.
• Repeat this every hour or 3 to 4 times a day.

2. Use Tea Bag
• Apply a tea bag for few minutes on the blisters.
• Repeat this every hour or 3-4 times a day.
• One can also consider pressing a warm tea bag on the blisters for about 30 minutes.
• Black tea leaves have a high amount of tannins.
• These tannins have antiviral and antibacterial properties.

3. Baking Soda
• There are many benefits associated with this old remedy.
• This remedy relieves itching and helps dry the sores.
• Take a damp piece of cotton and coat it with some baking soda.
• Then apply it directly to the affected area.
• Corn starch can also be used in the same way.

4. Aloe Vera
• Gently rub aloe Vera gel or oil on the sores.
• This helps to soothe an itch and for healing the skin.
• It is best to use the gel that is extracted naturally directly from the leaf.
• It also speeds up healing.

5. Essential Oils
• Use Vitamin E oil on the sores.
• A combination of other essential oils can also be used
Add a drop or two of essential oils and apply it on to the skin like:
– Olive leaf
– Calendula
– Rose hip
– Golden camellia
– Jojoba to other oils
