• Hay Fever is also known as nasal allergies, pollinosis or seasonal allergic rhinitis is a collection of symptoms.

10. Chamomile
• Chamomile is an excellent hay fever remedy.
• Chamomile oil can be smeared onto a tissue and inhaled.

11. Licorice root tea
• Take a cup of hot water and put half a teaspoon of licorice root tea in it and wait for 10 minutes.
• Strain and drink this tea.
• This remedy is one of the best home remedies for hay fever.

12. Cloves
• Boil 4-5 cloves in 125 ml of water.
• Add one teaspoonful of honey and drink the mixture twice or thrice a day.
• This is a good home remedy for hay fever.

13. Spiegel seed
• Take 1-2 teaspoonfuls of Spiegel seed with warm water twice a day.
• This will help in minimizing hay fever attacks.
• This is considered as an effective remedy.

14. Dry grapes (raisins)
• Soak dry grapes in water at night and keep in cold milk for half an hour and chew them.
• In the remaining water add a little sugar and drink it.
• In a month the lungs will be strengthened and poisonous wastes will be removed from the body.

15. Powder of ginger and pepper and honey
Mix one gram of dry ginger powder and one gram of black pepper in one teaspoon of molasses of honey.

16. Fennel seeds
• Regular chewing of fennel helps expel infected mucous from the chest. This helps in preventing hay fever attacks.

17. Borax
• Take grind kheel of borax which is made by heating borax in an iron vessel so that it spreads and store in a bottle and dilute it.
• Take half gram to one gram of it twice or thrice with honey or warm water.

General Home Remedies

• A mixture of Indian gooseberry and honey shall help in relieving hay fever.
• Take special efforts to keep the house free of all pollen.
• Curb the allergen like dust or pets.
• Be sure to keep your mouth and nose covered while dusting.
• Try as much as possible to stay indoors early in the morning.
• This is the time when the pollen count is usually the highest outdoors.
• Wash you carpets periodically, as they are known to gather dust and other allergens.
• Wash your hair in the night before sleeping.
• Pollen is known to stick to your hair and be deposited on your pillow and this will lead to an extended exposure to them.
• Stay away from people who smoke as the it might be an allergen.
• If one is smoking it is best to reduce or quit smoking and this will reduce symptoms.
• Application of petroleum jelly around the edge of your nostrils reduces the amount of pollen to get in.

Hay Fever Diet

• Eat a clean, healthy and balanced diet.
• Include vitamin C in the diet.
• Avoid flour, sugar, salt and dairy products for about one week.
• Drink plenty of filtered water and herbal tea.
• Eat good quality protein.
