What is meant by Oral Candidiasis?

• The disease is also called thrush.
• Oral Candidiasis is caused by a fungus called candida.
• The disease is not confined to mouth only.
• It can occur in other parts as well like area around bums in infants and vagina in women.

Causes of Oral Thrush or Candidiasis

• Intake of antibiotics
• Weakened immune systems
• High blood pressure due to diabetes

Symptoms of Oral Thrush or Candidiasis

• Whitish, velvety lesions in the mouth.
• These red tissues also bleed.
• These lesions can appear large.

Home Remedies for Oral Thrush or Candidiasis

1. Aloe vera
• Aloe vera is another most useful remedy for curing Candidiasis.
• Rub the pulp of aloe vera in the mouth.
• Gargle with water and rubbing it.
• This process must be repeated for a few times.

2. Baking soda
• Make a paste with water and baking soda.
• Dab it on the afflicted area with your finger.
• Now brush your teeth with herbal powder.
• It accelerates healing and neutralizes bacteria activity.

3. Cranberry juice
• Cranberry juice is a useful home remedy for Candidiasis.
• Consumption of cranberry juice is beneficial.
• Do ensure that it doesn’t have sugar.

4. Oak bark herbal powder
• Take two parts of white oak bark herbal powder, one part of myrrh herbal powder, ¾ part peppermint leaves’ powder, 1/8 th part of clove powder.
• Grind them all and place it into the air tight jar.
• Every time in the morning and at night, use this powder in the dosage of one tbsp.
• Keep this in mouth and rub it on the affected area.
• This will be good for treating the Candidiasis.
• This is one of the best home remedies for Candidiasis.

5. Use mouthwash containing
• sage oil
• peppermint oil
• menthol
• chamomile tincture

6. Beta-dine
• Fill a basin with one quart of water and add two spoons of betadine in the basin.
• Soak the infected area in the warm water and betadine solution to get rid of any microbes.
• This also helps prevent bacterial infections from spreading in your feet and making you sick.
• This is another effective home remedy for treating Candidiasis.

Some other Home Remedies

• Aromatherapy
• Tea tree or cinnamon bark oils have been found effective.
• Peppermint oil is an effective home remedy.
• Application of rosemary oil on the affected areas has also been found effective.
• Olive leaves with their antimicrobial qualities have been found effective.
• Regular application of aloe vera gel on the affected areas is also an effective home remedy.
• Take raw garlic every day or use it in your diet. Garlic is well known for its anti fungal action. Freshly extracted garlic juice can also be applied to get benefit from the infection.
• Lavender is also effective in the treatment of oral candidiasis. Add some drops of lavender oil or flower extract in bathtub.
