What is meant by Tinea Versicolor?

• Tinea Versicolor is a fungus affecting teenager’s skin.
• This is a universal problem with no significant ill effects that are permanent.
• Tinea versicolor occurs mainly due to abnormal growth of the yeast on the surface of the skin.
• Such abnormal growth leads to variation in skin color, scaling and can be very irritating and itchy.
• The area that gets affected by tinea versicolor is the upper chest, neck and back side.
• A yeast named Malassezia furfur is one of the main reasons.
• These funguses are lipophilic by nature.
• This nature indicates that fats are its weakness.

7. Tea Tree oil with Antifungal Properties
• Prepare a solution of water and white vinegar – one part of white vinegar to four part of water.
• Soak affected area for 20 to 30 minutes twice day.
• Sprinkle some baking soda between affected area and rinse affected area after fifteen minutes.
• It is as effective as an expensive antifungal powder.
• Rub tea tree oil between your toe fingers, it has anti-fungal properties.
• For immediate relief from itching or burning, soak affected area in an antiseptic mouthwash like Listerine.

8. Corn Starch
• Corn starch is effective in soaking moisture.
• Keep affected area dry by sprinkling some corn starch on them.

9. Apple Cider Vinegar
• Dilute a cup of apple cider vinegar with an equal amount of water.
• Use this diluted solution to wash the affected skin.
• Apple cider vinegar is acidic in nature and can easily help kill off the fungal strains.
• Undiluted apple cider vinegar may be used for Tinea Versicolor.

10. Beta-dine
• Fill a basin with one quart of water and add two spoons of betadine in the basin.
• Soak affected area in the warm water and betadine solution to get rid of any microbes.
• This also helps prevent bacterial infections from spreading in affected area and making you sick.

11. Drink as much water to flush out toxins and fight fungal infections to its best.
12. Dilute vinegar soaks or sprays (roughly one part white household vinegar to four parts water) are very effective in treating fungal infections.

– Yogurt (The plain and unflavored kind)
– Garlic

– Vinegar
– Oatmeal
– Applesauce
– Mashed beans
5. Avoid eating baked products and products that have high yeast content in them.
