Honey and Cinnamon – what are different health benefits?

Cinnamon is one of the oldest spice known to mankind, and honey, even older than it. The two ingredients with unique healing abilities have a long history as a home remedy for many ailments. It is found that a mixture of honey and cinnamon cures most diseases.

Health Benefits of Honey and Cinnamon as a combination

- The enzymes from honey and the oil obtained from cinnamon produce hydrogen peroxide which is an anti-microbial.
- Honey and cinnamon improves the immune system. It helps in resisting any bacterial infections and viral infections.
- Herbal tea that includes a mix of cinnamon and honey is helpful in combating free radicals that are responsible for the aging process.
- The combination helps in reduction of cholesterol from the arteries and lowers the risk of heart attacks.
- Loss of breath can also be cured. They strengthen the heartbeat.
- Honey and cinnamon is quite effective in curing almost all types of skin infections.
- Arthritis patients may take daily, morning, and night, one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder.
- Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it. It destroys the germs in the bladder.
- Drinking cinnamon powder as well as honey mixed and boiled in a cup full of water each morning stops the accumulation of fat in the body and hence helps in weight loss.
- A paste made out of hot olive oil, one tablespoon of honey, one teaspoon of cinnamon powder should be applied before taking bath and keep it for approximately 15 minutes and then rinse it with lukewarm water.

- Mix honey with cinnamon powder and apply paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash away the next morning.

- Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomachache and also clears stomach ulcers from the root.
- Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected parts cures eczema, ringworm and all types of skin infections.
