What is meant by ENT?
• ENT stands for Ear Nose and Throat.
• These parts can be affected by common conditions.
• An ENT specialist specializes in the disorders affecting the three areas.

Home Remedies for ENT Disorders

6. Eucalyptus Oil and humidification as Home Remedy for ENT Disorders
• Use some humidifiers in your room for a few hours every day.
• This will help soothe the irritation and inflammation.
• Both warm and cool mist humidifiers can be used to help to get rid of the mucus in the airways.
• The oil of eucalyptus has a soothing effect.
• The best way to use the oil is to inhale the fumes.
• This can be achieved by placing a small amount of the oil in a pan and placing this on heat, then inhaling the fumes as the oil boils.
• Fresh leaves of eucalyptus can also be added to boiling water.
• Inhale the fumes with the head bent and covered with a blanket or cloth.

7. Salt as Natural Remedy for ENT Disorders
• Salt is a natural antiseptic which helps in getting rid of most of the infections affecting the throat, ear and nose areas.
• Gargling with warm salt water can help you loosen the phlegm in your airways and the bronchioles.
• Simply add a spoon of salt to lukewarm water and gargle with it twice a day.
• Do it once in the morning and once in the evening.
• In addition to this, drinking warm water with some turmeric.
• This will also help you to get rid of the infection and soothe the inflamed airways.

8. Honey as Home Remedy for ENT Disorders
• Honey is considered highly beneficial in the treatment of ENT disorders.
• One can also mix 1 teaspoon honey in a glass of water and have it 3 times a day.
• This helps in children’s coughs and helps them sleep better.
• Honey works by coating and soothing an irritated throat.
• It has antioxidant and antibacterial effects.
• Dark-colored honey, such as the buckwheat honey is particularly high in antioxidants.

9. Sage as a home remedy for ENT disorder
• Sage has anti-inflammatory and antibiotic properties.
• They work on the pain, swelling and congestion.
• The herb should be made into an infusion.
• This is done by adding to hot boiling water and then cooling.
• It should however be taken while still warm or hot to achieve best results.
• It can be taken three times a day for about three days.

10. Thyme as Home Remedy for ENT Disorders
• Thyme has soothing and healing properties.
• Management of coughs, mucus discharge, swelling and pain can be taken care by the use of thyme.
• The herb should be added to hot water and allowed to boil for several minutes
• It is strained and taken.
• Take it when still hot especially when dealing with mucus accumulation.
• This should be taken at least two times daily.

Dietary precautions

1. Orange Juice and Water
• In acute bronchitis, the patient should fast on orange juice and water.
• This should be done till the acute symptoms subside.
• Later, he should adopt an all-fruit diet for two or three days.

2. All-fruit Diet and then Well-balanced Diet
• In the case of chronic bronchitis, the patient can begin with an all-fruit diet for five to seven days.
• Take three meals a day of fresh juicy fruits.
• After the all-fruit diet, follow a well-balanced diet with emphasis on seeds, nuts, grains, raw vegetables, and fresh fruits.
• For drinks, unsweetened lemon water, or cold/hot plain water may be taken.

Home Remedies for ENT Disorders

1. Garlic as Home Remedy for ENT Disorders
• Garlic is one of the more popular home cures.
• Have chicken soup with lots of garlic or a drink made with raw crushed garlic to help with common cold.
• The patient should be given garlic cloves that are boiled in thirty grams of milk daily.
• The cold-fighting compound in garlic is thought to be allicin
• It has antibacterial and antifungal properties.
• Allicin is what gives garlic its distinctive hot flavor
• To maximize the amount of allicin, fresh garlic should be chopped or crushed and it should be raw
• It is also available in pill form.

2. Turmeric as Home Remedy for ENT Disorders
• Half a teaspoon of turmeric powder should be administered with half a glass of milk.
• It should be taken about two or three times daily.
• It acts best when taken on an empty stomach.

3. Kelp as Home Remedy for ENT Disorders
• Kelp has antibacterial and antiseptic properties.
• They are found to be very helpful in dealing with ENT disorders.
• It works by killing the bacteria.

5. Honey and lemon and radish
