What is meant by Freckles?

• Freckles may be described as flat, round, dark colored spots.
• These spots range in size from about 2mm to 4mm.
• Freckles could be the result of pigment precipitation in one particular place.
• The skin surrounding the spot is lighter in color.
• Freckles may be hereditary.
• Freckles are usually of no medical consequence.
• They do not cause any problems.
• Freckles are sensitive to the UV rays of sunlight.
• They appear more prominent during or after exposure to sunlight.

Types of Freckles

There are two basic types of freckles:
Ephelides: These are flat red or light-brown spots that typically appear in the summer months. They usually fade away in the winter.
Lentigines: Lentigines may be small tan, brown or black spot which is darker than an ephelide and they do not fade in winter.

Causes for Freckles

• Freckles are passed on genetically.
• Rare disorders such as Xeroderma Pigmentosum.
• Increased sensitivity to ultraviolet rays leading to freckles.
• Prolonged exposure to sunlight.
• Hormonal imbalance could cause freckles.

Home Remedies for Freckles

9. Vegetable masks
• Regular use of fruit and vegetable masks made with apricots, strawberries, cucumbers and red currant will help lighten freckles.

10. Sour milk
• Wash your face with sour milk.
• Lactic acid promotes gentle peeling of skin.
• It also removes the irritation or dryness.

11. Horseradish juice
• Horseradish juice or vinegar, or oatmeal dabbed on the skin is also helpful in lightening freckles.

12. Parsley juice
• Apply parsley juice mixed with equal amounts of lemon juice, orange juice, and red currant juice.

13. Yellow mustard
• Grind yellow mustard in milk.
• Apply to the face during the night.
• Wash the face the next morning.

14. Onions
• Onions also can be used for removing freckles.
• It also removes age spots.
• Slice a red onion in half and rub on the spots.
• Do this twice daily.
• Continue this until the spots fade.

15. Buttermilk
• Applying buttermilk on freckles helps in lightening them.

16. Sesame seeds
• Mix an equal quantity of turmeric and sesame seeds.
• Grind in water.
• Apply to the face.

17. Watermelon
• Take a watermelon and make a hole in its rind.
• Introduce some grains of rice in it.
• Take out the rice after a week.
• Grind into a paste.
• Apply on the face.

18. Currants and honey
• To lighten freckles, mash 1/4 cup of unripe currants and mix with 1 tbsp. of unpasteurized honey.
• Put on freckles.
• Leave on for half an hour.
• Rinse off with warm water.
• Dab on diluted fresh lemon juice.

Dietary measures for Freckles

• Eat plenty of fresh vegetables and whole grains for the vitamins A, B complex and C.
• These are all needed for healthy skin.
• Vitamin B5 helps prevent dry skin.
• Increase your Vitamin C intake.
• It makes your skin less sensitive to the sun.
It is found in :
• Milk
• Eggs
• Cabbage
• Wheat germ
• Nutritional yeast
Essential fatty acids
• Unrefined, cold-pressed vegetable oils
• Flax seed
Foods rich in vitamin C include:
• Citrus fruits
• Apples
• Green onions
• Black and red currant
• Rosehip tea

Other suggestions for Freckles:

• Use a good quality sunscreen.
• The one offers a high level of ‘sun protection factor’.
• Use it whenever one has to go out in the sun.
• Add a broad-rimmed hat to your wardrobe.
• Use it when out in the sun.
• The broad rim will shield your face from direct sunlight.
• Avoid going out from 10 am to 4 pm when the sunrays are maximum.
• Use sun block lotion each time going for a swim.
• Re-apply every two hours in case of heavy perspiration.

- Make a paste from 500 grams of fresh ginger and 500 grams of brown sugar.
- Steam or distill this for 1 hour.
- Then dry it under the sun for 3 days.
- Steam again this paste.
- Then dry for 9 days.
Direction:
- Take a spoonful of this paste with the dose of 3 times a day.
- Do it since the first day of menstruation for 1 month.
- During treatment, patients are prohibited from having sexual intercourse.
- This mixture can remove the wind and cold pathogens from the body.

What to avoid in case of female sterility?

Things to be avoided and also to be kept in mind to get rid of infertility:
• Avoid excessive smoking.
