			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>During pregnancy, you may feel the need to urinate frequently, sometimes even when the bladder is nearly empty. During later pregnancy, many women find the need to urinate more frequently. Many pregnant women leak some urine when coughing, laughing, sneezing or exercising. During pregnancy it is normal to have to go to the bathroom often.<br />
Frequent urination is one of the most common symptoms of pregnancy that women experience. In fact, some women experience frequent urination and not even know they are pregnant yet. There are a couple of reasons for frequent urination during pregnancy.<br />
Urinating often occurs during early pregnancy as soon as 6-7 weeks due to increased blood flow during pregnancy. Excess blood leads to extra fluid being processed through the kidneys to the bladder. </p>
<p><strong>Causes:</strong><br />
The need to go to the bathroom will change throughout the stages of pregnancy. Sometimes you may feel the need to urinate more frequently. Other times, you feel like you&#8217;re back to normal. </p>
<p>- In the first weeks of pregnancy, your body produces a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG), which can make you urinate more frequently.<br />
- Your body contains more fluid during pregnancy.<br />
- Your kidneys work harder throughout pregnancy to remove waste products from your body.<br />
- As the uterus grows and rises higher during the second trimester, some women find that they have to urinate as often as before.<br />
- Towards the end of pregnancy, the baby moves down to prepare for childbirth. This increases the pressure on the bladder, causing more frequent urination.<br />
- The added pressure may wake you up several times at night to urinate.<br />
- You can also force some urine to leak out, particularly if the muscles around the urethra are not very strong. </p>
<p>For the first days after birth, you may urinate more often as your body gets rid of excess fluid from the pregnancy. But after a few days, your need to urinate should return to what it was before pregnancy.</p>
<p><strong>Treatment:</strong><br />
Here are some tips for dealing with frequent urination or loss during pregnancy: </p>
<p><em>Avoid drinks with caffeine.</em><br />
- Caffeine can make you urinate more frequently.<br />
- Avoid drinks like coffee, tea, colas and other caffeinated beverages that lead to the problem. </p>
<p><em>Do the Kegel exercises.</em><br />
- These simple exercises can help stop urine leakage by strengthening the muscles that keep the urethra (the tube through which urine leaves the body) closed. They can even help prepare these muscles for labor and delivery.<br />
- Do these exercises by squeezing the muscles you use to stop urine flow and hold for 10 seconds.<br />
- Do this 10-20 times in a row at least three times a day. </p>
<p><em>Avoid drinking fluids before bedtime.</em><br />
- Cut down on night visits to the bathroom, fluid intake should be earlier in the day.<br />
- Reduce the amount you drink in the early evening and night.<br />
- However, be sure to drink adequate amounts of water and juice during the day to ensure that there are robbing your body of vital fluids. </p>
<p><em>Completely empty the bladder.</em><br />
- To help prevent leaks, make sure your bladder does not overfill.<br />
- Try not to &#8220;hold it&#8221; when you feel the need to urinate. This may mean more trips to the bathroom.<br />
- When you urinate, try to lean forward a bit in order to completely empty the bladder. Always empty your bladder before exercising. </p>
<p><em>Use a sanitary pad or panty shield.</em><br />
- A pad or panty shield can take unexpected leakage caused by coughing or sneezing. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Bleeding during all stages of pregnancy can be dangerous; you should call your healthcare provider if there are any signs of vaginal bleeding during pregnancy. Vaginal bleeding is any blood from the vagina (the canal leading from the uterus to the external genitalia). This usually refers to abnormal bleeding not associated with a regular menstrual period. Some basic things to know about bleeding are: </p>
<p>- If you are bleeding, you should always use a towel or panty liner so you can control how much you are bleeding and the type of bleeding you are experiencing.<br />
- Never use a tampon or introduce anything else in the area of the vagina as a douche or sexual intercourse if you are experiencing bleeding.<br />
- If you are also experiencing any of the other symptoms mentioned below in connection with a possible complication, you should contact your healthcare provider immediately.</p>
<p>The time period of the bleeding can be:<br />
- The first trimester bleeding is vaginal bleeding during the first 3 months of pregnancy. Vaginal bleeding can vary from light spotting to severe bleeding with clots. Vaginal bleeding is a common problem in early pregnancy, complicating 20-30% of all pregnancies.<br />
- Any vaginal bleeding during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy (last 6 months of a 9-month pregnancy) is abnormal.<br />
- Bleeding from the vagina after 28 weeks of pregnancy is a true emergency. Bleeding can range from very mild to very quickly and may or may not be accompanied by abdominal pain. Haemorrhage (another word for bleeding) is the most common cause of maternal death in the United States. It complicates 4% of all pregnancies.</p>
<p><strong>Causes:</strong><br />
Many women have a certain amount of vaginal bleeding during pregnancy. Some studies show that up to 30% of pregnant women experience some degree of vaginal bleeding during pregnancy. Vaginal bleeding during pregnancy is more common in twins and other multiple pregnancies than singleton pregnancies.</p>
<p>Sometimes women experience very little amount of bleeding in the first two weeks of pregnancy, usually around the time of the expected menstrual period. This light bleeding is sometimes referred to as &#8220;implantation bleeding.&#8221; Doctors do not know for sure what causes this bleeding, but can occur as a result of a fertilized egg from implanting in the uterine wall. </p>
<p>The amount of bleeding, the stage of pregnancy, and any associated symptoms can help determine the cause of vaginal bleeding during pregnancy. While vaginal bleeding during pregnancy does not mean a problem with the pregnancy, women who experience bleeding during pregnancy should always be evaluated by a physician.</p>
<p><strong>Treatment:</strong><br />
Drugs for treatment of irregular vaginal bleeding depend on the cause. Examples are described below:<br />
- If the cause of bleeding is the lack of ovulation (anovulation), doctors may prescribe either progesterone to be taken at regular intervals, or an oral contraceptive containing progesterone for proper hormone balance. This treatment dramatically decreases the risk of uterine cancer in women who do not ovulate. </p>
<p>- If the cause of irregular vaginal bleeding is a precancerous change in the lining of the uterus, progesterone drugs can be prescribed to reduce the accumulation of pre-cancerous tissue lining the uterus in an attempt to avoid surgery. </p>
<p>- When a woman has not menstruated for less than six months, the cause may be the menopausal transition. During this transition, a woman is sometimes offered an oral contraceptive to establish a more regular bleeding pattern to provide complete contraception until menopause, and to relieve hot flashes. </p>
<p>- If the cause of irregular vaginal bleeding is benign polyps or other tumors, they are sometimes removed surgically to control bleeding, and can not be treated with medication. </p>
<p>- If the cause of bleeding is infection, antibiotics are necessary. Bleeding during pregnancy requires urgent evaluation by an obstetrician. Endometriosis can be treated with medication and / or surgery. </p>
<p>- Sometimes, the cause of excessive bleeding is not evident after the completion of the test (dysfunctional uterine bleeding). In these cases, oral contraceptives may improve cycle control and reduce bleeding.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot that forms in a deep vein of the leg, calf or pelvis. During pregnancy, swelling and discomfort in both legs is common and does not always mean there is a problem. The blood in the veins is in constant formation of tiny clots that usually breaks down in the body. If the balance of clot formation and resolution changes, significant clotting can occur. A thrombus may form if one or a combination of the following situations exists.</p>
<h2>Causes of Deep Vein Thrombosis</h2>
<p><strong>Immobility</strong><br />
- Prolonged sitting and travel such as long airplane flights, car or train.<br />
- Hospitalization.<br />
- Surgery.<br />
- Trauma in the leg with or without surgery or casting.<br />
- Pregnancy, including 6-8 weeks after birth.<br />
- Obesity. </p>
<p><strong>Hypercoagulability</strong><br />
- Smoking<br />
- Genetic predisposition<br />
- Polycythemia (increased number of red blood cells)<br />
- Cancer </p>
<p><strong>Trauma to the vein</strong><br />
- Fracture of the leg<br />
- Leg contusion<br />
- Complication of an invasive procedure, the vein</p>
<p><strong>Other causes include:</strong><br />
- The damage occurs to the inner lining of a vein. This damage can result from injuries caused by physical, chemical or biological factors. Such factors include surgery, serious injury, inflammation and immune response.<br />
- Blood flow is sluggish or slow. Lack of movement can cause slow or sluggish blood flow. This can occur after surgery, if you are sick and in bed for a long time, or if you are travelling for a long time.<br />
- Your blood is thicker or more likely to clot than normal. Certain hereditary conditions (such as factor V Leiden) increase the tendency for blood to clot. This is also true for treatment with hormone therapy or birth control pills.</p>
<h2>Treatment for Deep Vein Thrombosis</h2>
<p>As soon as the doctor suspects a venous thrombosis, you are advised to start treatment with an injection of heparin (an anticoagulant) to &#8220;thin the blood.&#8221; There are different types of heparin. The most commonly used in pregnancy is &#8220;low molecular weight heparin (LMWH). </p>
<p><strong>Superficial Thrombophlebitis:</strong><br />
The treatment of superficial blood clot is symptomatic:<br />
- Hot towels<br />
- Leg compression and<br />
- An anti-inflammatory drug like ibuprofen.</p>
<p><strong>Deep venous Thromboses</strong><br />
Treatment of DVT above the knee is anticoagulation, unless there is a contraindication.Contraindications include recent major surgery (from anticoagulation would be thin all the blood in the body, not just in the leg, leading to serious bleeding problems), or abnormal reactions when previously exposed to anticoagulant medications. </p>
<p><strong>Anticoagulation</strong> prevents further growth of blood clotting and prevents the formation of a clot that can travel to the lungs. Anticoagulation is a two-step process. Warfarin is the drug of choice for anticoagulation. It should be started immediately, but unfortunately it may take a week or more for blood to get properly diluted. Therefore, the molecular weight heparin is administered at the same time. It thins the blood through a different mechanism and is used as bridge therapy until the warfarin has reached the therapeutic level. Enoxaparin injections can be given on an outpatient basis.</p>
<p><strong>Surgery</strong><br />
Surgery is a rare option in the treatment of deep vein thrombosis large leg in patients who can not take blood thinners or who have recurrent clots while on anticoagulant medications. Surgery is often accompanied by placement of a vena cava (IVC) filter to prevent future clots embolization to the lung. </p>

- The heart rate increases.<br />
- The heart pumps more blood per minute and the amount of blood in the body expands by an average of 40-45%.<br />
- The capacity of the circulatory system also increases as blood flows to the enlarged uterus and placenta.<br />
Pregnancy is a time of change and body changes make you more apt to feel dizzy or light headed.</p>
<p><strong>Causes:</strong><br />
The main reason of dizziness during pregnancy due to increased hormones that cause blood vessels to relax and widen. This helps to increase the blood flow to the baby, but delays the return of blood in the veins. This makes the blood pressure to be lower than usual, which can reduce blood flow to the brain, temporarily causing dizziness.<br />
Early in pregnancy, dizziness is probably due to the fact that the body still is not producing enough blood to fill the rapidly expanding circulatory system. </p>
<p>Dizziness is also caused by low blood sugar that may occur when the body adapts to changes in their metabolism. Women who are anemic or who have varicose veins may be more susceptible to motion sickness than others. </p>
<p>During the second trimester, dizziness may be caused by the growing uterus puts pressure on blood vessels. Reduced blood flow to the brain, sometimes turn the head. You may feel dizzy if the blood sugar decreases or becomes dehydrated.</p>
<p>Dizziness can also occur later in pregnancy if you lie on the back so that the baby&#8217;s weight to press into the vena cava. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Now that you&#8217;re pregnant, you may have noticed that the gums are bothering more than usual. If the gums are sore or tender, or gums are bleeding when brushing or flossing, you may have a condition called pregnancy gingivitis. Pregnancy gingivitis is a common occurrence during pregnancy, however, if left untreated can lead to complications. If you notice any symptoms of pregnancy gingivitis, it is important to visit the dentist for proper treatment.</p>
<p>Swollen, red gums, painful bleeding when brushing or flossing are a sign of pregnancy gingivitis. The inflammation is caused by higher progesterone levels that make the gums more susceptible to plaque bacteria and the increased blood supply in the mouth.</p>
<p>You can also develop a benign nodule in the gums that bleed when you brush the teeth. This type of nodule is called pregnancy tumour or pyogenic granuloma. Tumours of pregnancy can actually appear anywhere in the body during pregnancy, but most often they appear in the mouth.</p>
<p>A pregnancy tumour can grow up to three quarters of an inch in size and is more likely to occur in an area where you have gingivitis. It usually disappears after having the baby, but if not, you will need to have it removed. If it causes discomfort, it interferes with chewing or brushing, or begins to bleed excessively; you can have it removed during pregnancy. </p>
<p><strong>Causes:</strong><br />
There are several causes of gum disease during pregnancy. One is the increase in blood flow. During pregnancy, blood flow actually increases between 30% and 50%. This is to ensure that the baby is always getting the right nutrients to grow and develop. Unfortunately, this increased blood flow can cause the gums to swell and become very sensitive. One reason of constipation is an increase in the hormone progesterone, which relaxes smooth muscles throughout the body including the digestive tract. This means that food passes through the intestines more slowly. And the problem may be compounded later in pregnancy by the pressure of growing uterus on the rectum. Iron supplements, especially in high doses can worsen constipation. </p>
<p><strong>Causes:</strong><br />
One of the most common reasons why you may feel constipated is because during pregnancy, the body retains too much water. Even water from the intestines is absorbed by the body. Therefore, there is enough water to soften the stool, causing constipation.<br />
The second reason behind constipation is the loss of appetite, especially in the early months of pregnancy due to nausea and morning sickness.<br />
In the first quarter it is caused by progesterone which decreases the intestinal activity. In late pregnancy the pressure of the uterus on the intestines and rectum makes the system slow.<br />

Headaches during pregnancy are even more painful because their treatment options are more limited. Some women who regularly suffer from chronic headaches, such as migraines, may have fewer episodes of them. Other women who rarely experience any headaches can have them all of a sudden.. And others, who are usually victims of pre-pregnancy, chronic headaches, can have even more.</p>
<p><strong>Causes:</strong><br />
Many women experience headaches during pregnancy, especially in the first and third trimesters. The hormonal changes that affect estrogen levels, along with an increase in blood volume and circulation are the most likely causes.<br />
Headaches during pregnancy are probably caused by hormones and changes in how blood circulates. If you have given to caffeine, it can also make the head pounds. This is usually not uncomfortable or painful. gastro esophageal reflux is often called &#8220;acid reflux&#8221; or &#8220;heartburn.&#8221; But this condition has nothing to do with the heart! </p>
<p>Indigestion is common during pregnancy and may occur with the heartburn. Also known as &#8220;dyspepsia,&#8221; indigestion is another name for an upset stomach. You know you have indigestion if you feel full, bloated or gassy. </p>
<p><strong>Causes:</strong><br />
Heartburn occurs when food is digested in the stomach, which contains acid, is pushed into the esophagus (the tube between the mouth and stomach). This causes a burning sensation behind the breastbone or a burning sensation that starts in the stomach and seems to rise. You can also have a bitter taste in the mouth or a feeling that vomit is rising in the throat.<br />
- Usually, the food moves through the esophagus between the mouth and stomach.<br />
- When you are not eating, a circular valve around the lower esophagus closes the connection between the esophagus and stomach.<br />
- This valve keeps stomach acid to rise.<br />
- When you swallow, the valve relaxes to allow food and liquid to flow through.<br />

* If you need to lie down, prop the upper body with some pillows. </p>
<p><em>- Do not gain too much weight.</em><br />
* Increase a reasonable amount of weight.<br />

<p><strong>Causes:</strong><br />

This causes excessive itching during pregnancy. Sometimes the itching is so severe that women end up scratching the skin.</p>
<p><strong>Treatment:</strong><br />
Itchy skin can be treated by trying the following:-</p>
<p>- Apply moisturizer with aloe Vera or calamine. The aloe Vera is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal and nourishes and protects skin. Calamine lotion can also be effective.<br />
- Use a mild soap or shower gel, it will not dry your skin. Dry skin is often itchy. The skin is slightly acidic in nature and use of an alkaline soap can dry the skin out. Most soaps are alkaline, some are neutral pH and fewer still have the same acidity of your skin. Try a neutral pH soap.<br />
- Massage your body with coconut oil or olive oil before a bath. Avoid using a brush or sponge body until the skin stops itching.<br />
- Boil a few neem leaves in a cup of water and add this mixture to your bath water. Some women feel that it relieves itching.<br />
- Wear loose cotton clothing that allows your skin to breathe, especially during the summer months.<br />
- Rash or prickly heat can also cause itching. Try not to avoid going out in the heat of the day, if you can.<br />
- Eat a diet rich in vitamin C, vitamin E, beta carotene and zinc, and drink enough water to keep your skin soft and hydrated.<br />
- Use a soft clean cloth to gently rub the affected areas. Do not use nails, which can draw blood and infect the skin.<br />
- Sometimes, detergent residues on clothing can make you itch for drying out your skin. Choose a mild detergent and rinse your clothes thoroughly. </p>

Most leg cramps are caused by fatigue of carrying the weight that is put into textron during pregnancy. As you gain more weight, leg cramps may increase. Cramps can also be aggravated by pressure from the expanding uterus on blood vessels that return blood from the legs to the heart and from nerves to the legs. Leg cramps can occur at any time, but most likely it occurs at bedtime.<br />
Leg cramps start during the second trimester and may get worse as the pregnancy progresses and the belly gets bigger. While, these cramps can occur during the day, but they are most noticeable at night and they can interfere with the ability to sleep well at night.</p>
<p><strong>Causes:</strong><br />
Several things can lead to painful leg cramps during pregnancy.<br />
For starters, the muscles that withstand the increasing weight of your baby, and probably feel the tension. Growth of the uterus (womb) is also putting pressure on the main vein in your legs. This, combined with the effects of progesterone, a hormone of pregnancy, affects the blood flow and therefore, the muscle tone in the legs. </p>
<p>Leg cramps may also be happening because they lack certain nutrients and salts such as calcium or magnesium. You can have low levels of these circulating in the blood because your baby is getting what it needs from supplies and leaving your body short of these nutrients.However, it is unclear whether taking supplements such as calcium or magnesium salts, helps prevent cramps. </p>
<p><strong>Tips and Treatment:</strong><br />
Person must try these tips to fend off leg cramps:<br />
- Avoid standing or sitting with legs crossed for long periods of time.<br />
- Stretch the calf muscles regularly during the day and several times before going to bed.<br />
- Rotate the ankles and toes when you sit, eat dinner or watch television.<br />
- Take a walk every day, unless the doctor has advised not to exercise.<br />
- Avoid getting too tired. Lie on the left side to improve circulation to and from the legs.<br />
- Stay hydrated during the day by drinking fluids regularly.<br />
- Try a warm bath before bedtime to relax the muscles. </p>
<p><strong>There are lot of home remedies that can also help to cure the problem:</strong><br />
- Soak your feet in warm water every day before going to bed. This helps to relax the calf muscles and prevent cramps and swelling in the evening. Add the mint to the water and soak your feet in reliving the pain instantly. If your feet swell during the day, then you must use a compression of hot water and a towel or a hot water bottle on the feet to soothe muscles. Sitting for the day and complete their tasks in this way or take a short nap to make sure your body some rest.<br />
- Taking a magnesium supplement in addition to a prenatal vitamin may help some women avoid leg cramps. Well, having leg cramps is a sign that you need more calcium, and calcium supplements. Although it is certainly important to get enough calcium, there is no good evidence that taking calcium supplements help prevent leg cramps during pregnancy. </p>
<p>If you have a cramp, immediately stretch the calf muscles: Straighten the leg, heel first and slightly flexible toes toward the shins. It may hurt at first, but will relieve the spasm and pain will gradually disappear. A doctor can also be called for help if the signs continue to persist for long time. </p>
