Date is the name of the fruit of the Date Palm, which is believed to have originated somewhere in the desert oases of northern Africa and, perhaps, southwest Asia.
A serving of power-packed dates contains 31 grams of carbohydrates, making them a powerhouse of energy. Carbohydrates include 3 grams of dietary fiber and 29 grams of naturally occurring sugars such as fructose, glucose and sucrose to provide quick energy and are readily used by the body. Dates are a perfect energy boosting snack.
Dates are one of the best natural sources of potassium. Dates also contain a variety of B-complex vitamins – thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B-6 and pantothenic acid.

Health Benefits of Dates :
- Great energy booster.
- Dates get digested very quickly, that’s why they can be used for quick energy and repairing wastes.
- Dates are also excellent remedy for alcoholic intoxication.
- The date is a laxative food. It is highly beneficial in the treatment of constipation as the roughage provided by it stimulates sluggish bowels.
- Dates are an effective remedy for weak heart. Dates soaked overnight in water and crushed in the same water in the morning after removing the seeds should be taken at least twice a week in this condition. It will strengthen the heart.
- Dates are Rich in Potassium and Low in Sodium.
- Researches have revealed that dates are effective in preventing abdominal cancer.
- Dates have a tonic effect and thus, hold value as medicines.

However, as a precaution, dates require great care for selection. The sticky surface of the date attracts dust and impurities of the air to settle there. It is, therefore, advisable to purchase the best varieties in good packing condition and to wash them thoroughly before use.
- When you select dates, always make sure they are evenly colored and fleshy. A dry, withered-looking date has neither any taste nor nutritional benefits.
- Ensure there are no sugar formations on the exterior part of a date. This usually happens around a dry date fruit and is absolutely not suitable to eat.

Eczema is a form of dermatitis, or inflammation of the upper layers of the skin. Eczema is an allergic, inflammatory and irritating skin condition which causes dryness and recurring rashes on the skin. Some of the common symptoms of eczema are redness, skin edema, itching and dryness, crusting, flaking, blistering, cracking, oozing, or bleeding. Based on these symptoms, eczema can divided into three main types – acute, sub-acute and chronic.
Its symptoms include itching, redness, dryness and flakiness of the skin. The most common affected regions are the hands, wrists, arms, neck, face, upper chest and back of the knees.

What are the causes of eczema?
Doctors do not know the exact cause of eczema, but a defect of the skin that impairs its function as a barrier, possibly combined with an abnormal function of the immune system, are believed to be an important factors. Some forms of eczema can be triggered by substances that come in contact with the skin, such as soaps, cosmetics, clothing, detergents, jewelry, or sweat. Environmental allergens (substances that cause allergic reactions) may also cause outbreaks of eczema. Changes in temperature or humidity, or even psychological stress, can lead to outbreaks of eczema in some people.

How Eczema can be treated ?
- Apply coconut oil on the affected area.
- Mudpack when applied in the affected area is also helpful in treating eczema.
- Carrot juice and spinach juice in combination is highly beneficial for eczema.
- Tomato juice is regarded as an effective medicine which clears up the eczema in a matter of days.
- Another effective remedy would be making a paste using 1 tablespoon each of turmeric powder and bitter neem leaves. Apply this paste to the affected areas.
- Eczema can also be treated using water. Cold compress or cold wet fomentation when applied two times a day is found beneficial in treating eczema.
- Take an iron vessel and boil 200 grams of mustard oil in it. Add 50 grams of fresh clean leaves of neem in it. Once the leaves turn black, let it cool and then strain it. Apply this oil 4 times a day to cure eczema.
- Mashed papaya seeds when applied on the eczema affected area reduce itching and help a person suffering from eczema.
- Sun bathing is also helpful in curing eczema. It kills the harmful bacteria and thus treating the inflammation caused.

Dietary Treatments for Eczema :
- Soybean products, eggs, nuts, wheat and maize should be avoided, though food allergies may vary from person to person.
- Sour foods like pickles, curds, etc. must be avoided.
- Salt must be reduced in the diet.

Indigestion is not a distinct condition, but it may be a sign of an underlying intestinal disorder such as peptic ulcer or gallbladder disease.
Indigestion, also known as upset stomach or dyspepsia, is a painful or burning feeling in the upper abdomen.
Indigestion can be caused by stress, consumption of certain foods or a combination of the two. While there are over-the-counter medications that treat this condition, numerous natural remedies are also effective at lessening the effects of indigestion. They can even prevent the condition from occurring at all.

Symptoms :
- Burning in the stomach or upper abdomen.
- Heartburn
- Abdominal pain, bloating (full feeling), belching and gas, nausea, vomiting, acidic taste, “growling” stomach, and sometimes diarrhea.

Causes :
- A disease or an ulcer in the digestive tract might cause indigestion.
- For most people, it is the result of eating too much, eating too fast, eating high-fat foods, or eating during stressful situations. Indigestion is not caused by excess stomach acid.
- Being tired or stressed, smoking, or drinking too much alcohol or caffeinated beverages can cause indigestion or make it worse.
Sometimes people have persistent indigestion that is not related to any of these factors. This type of indigestion is called functional, or non-ulcer, and is caused by a problem associated with how food moves through the digestive tract.

Treatment :
- Combine 1 tbsp. of ginger and lemon juice with 2 tbsp. of honey in 8 cups of warm water. Mix these ingredients for several minutes until they are adequately joined. Consume this mixture when you begin to feel the effects of indigestion.
- Green tea and herbal tea are very effective in improving digestion.
- Eat 10 to 20 grapes whenever you experience any type of digestion issue. Grapes are very good at relieving indigestion, as well as an upset stomach.
- Add 1 tbsp. of cinnamon to 8 oz.. of cold water, then mix thoroughly. Drink this mixture 1 hour after you have eaten to prevent or relieve indigestion, as well as flatulence.
- Drink 4 oz. of pineapple juice after each meal to prevent any type of digestion problem, including belching, flatulence or bloating. If you experiencing these problems, consume the drink each day, after every meal, until your indigestion has subsided.
- Avoid eating junk food during indigestion. Foods like fizzy
drinks, caffeinated drinks, garlic, alcohol, acid fruits, chocolate, and
tomatoes/tomato products can give you heartburn and indigestion.
- Start taking diet rich in green leafy vegetables.
- Eat small meals so the stomach does not have to work as hard or as long.
- Eat slowly.
- Caffeine causes the stomach to produce more acid, so reduce or avoid foods and beverages that contain caffeine.
- If stress is a trigger for your indigestion, reevaluating your lifestyle may help to reduce stress. Learn new methods for managing stress, such as relaxation and biofeedback techniques.
- Smokers should consider quitting smoking, or at least not smoking right before eating, as smoking can irritate the stomach lining.
- Avoid wearing tight-fitting garments because they tend to compress the stomach, which can cause its contents to enter the esophagus.
- Do not exercise with a full stomach. Rather, exercise before a meal or at least one hour after eating a meal.
- Do not lie down right after eating.

Dark circles under eyes are bothersome to many as it does not look good on your beautiful face. Under eye dark circles is the most common thing that can be seen in almost every individual. Around nine out of ten people have dark circles under the eyes.

What causes dark circles under the eyes ?
- Dark Circles under eyes are generally due to a lack of sleep, fatigue, stress, deficiency or some disease.
- Dark circles may be hereditary.
- Nasal congestion can also cause dark under eye circles.
- Chronic atopic eczema on skin can cause dark circles.
- Dark circles under eyes may also be due to aging which thins the skin around the eyes.
Eyelid swelling or eye puffiness can produce shadows producing light dark eye circles.

Natural Home Remedies for treating dark circles:

- Drink at least ten glasses of water everyday.
- Do not leave cream on the skin around the eyes for long periods. Remove the cream applied around the eye after 10 min.
- Mix one teaspoon flour, one teaspoon milk, a pinch of sugar, 1/4 spoon honey and squeeze half lemon juice. Apply it on face and once it is dry, rub the face with wet hands, till the pack in removed.
- Grate cucumber / potato and squeeze fresh juice out of gratings. Dip two cotton balls in it and keep these cotton balls on eyes. This relaxes eyes and relieves the tiredness of eyes.
- Apply a paste of fenugreek mixed in milk on dark circles in the night. Wash off in the morning and watch dark circles vanish for good.
- Take a teaspoon of tomato juice, a few drops of lemon juice, a pinch of turmeric powder (if you are not allergic to it) and a little flour, enough to make a paste and apply.
- Apply a paste of turmeric powder with pineapple juice for dark circles under the eyes.
- Crush some mint and apply it around the eye.
- Massage with almond oil under and around eyes at bed time daily for 2 weeks and see the improvement. Almond is very good skin food and helps to remove dark circles.
- Rub the area with a powdered Vitamin E capsule and wipe off with a mixture of honey and egg white. This will reduce darkness around the eye.
- Put hot and cold clothes alternatively under eyes for 10 minutes. Then apply some almond oil on the dark surface before going to bed.
- The acupressure point for eyes is on the mount below the index finger of your palms. Pressing this mount may help.

Exercise for Dark Circles under the Eyes :
- Do various breathing exercises, like pranayam. This is a very helpful eye care and removes your dark circles naturally.
- Rest your index finger and middle finger of your both hands on the area just above the eye brows. And then lift up your eyebrows keeping the fingers fix. Do this for 10-15 times, it is a very effective exercise.
