What are different home remedies for bad breath? – Part 2



Introduction :
- Bad breath is an embarrassing problem.
- An unusual breath odor may be a sign of illness.
- bad breath is medically termed halitosis.
- It is usually related to poor oral hygiene or poor digestion, sometimes both.

The illness includes:
- a herpes infection of the mouth,
- diabetes,
- postnasal drip,
- tonsillitis,
- sinusitis,
- dental infection,
- strep throat,
- liver or kidney failure,
- a lung abscess.

Causes of Bad Breath
- Food, particularly those high in protein
- Not eating breakfast
- Smoking
- Antihistamines and other drugs or medications
- Sinus problems
- Mouth sores
- Tooth infections or gum disease (gingivitis)
- Stress
- Dehydration
- Significant talking
- Zinc deficiency
- Gastrointestinal disorders (indigestion or stomach problems)
- Serious illnesses such as cancer, tuberculosis, or syphillis

Home Remedies for Bad Breath
- Baking soda is a fantastic remedy for bad breath.
- It changes the pH (acidity) level in your mouth.
- This provides an environment that is not friendly odor-causing bacteria.
- Simply add some baking soda onto your toothbrush, brush with it, and then rinse with water.
- Another option is to purchase toothpastes that already contain a small amount of baking soda.
- It is also important to brush the top of your tongue with your toothbrush every morning.
- This helps dislodge many odorous particles that contribute to bad breath.
- Tea Tree Oil is a natural cure for bad breath when used as a toothpaste additive.
- Simply add a drop of the oil to your toothpaste right before you brush.
- You can also create a Tea Tree Oil mouthwash by adding 3 drops of the oil to a cup of warm water.
- Gargle this solution two to three times a day, preferably after each meal.
- Bad breath is often simply the result of a dry mouth.
- Simply eating a citrus fruit that is high in citric acid (such as an orange, lemon, or grapefruit) can help improve your breath significantly.
- The acid in such fruits stimulates the saliva, which helps suppress some of the odor-causing bacteria.
- The tangy taste of such fruits leaves the mouth smelling fresh.
- Try probiotics tablets .
- Daily consumption of unheated extra virgin olive oil has helped me against bad breath and smell from nose.

General Home Remedies
- Brush your teeth with baking soda or lemon juice (i prefer lemon juice).
- Brush your tongue.
- Gargle your mouth with salt water.
- Avoid cheese.
- Cheese forms a layer on the tongue and makes the breath smell.
- Gargle your mouth with water before every meal.
- Brush your teeth after every meal.
- The pieces of food you chew may get stuck on your teeth and so eliminate them by brushing.
- Go to visit a dentist if the smell is consistent and more.
- Avoid sweet foods and if eaten wash your mouth immediately so that they are not accumulated in the dentures.
- Try Listerine and other mouthwashes.
- One can also have cardamom seeds, cloves or a mouth freshner like betel nuts which freshens up the mouth and also improves digestion.

- This is because they have a cleansing effect in the intestines.
- Take a chlorophyll supplement, after each meal and again at bedtime.
- Try supplementing your diet with digestive enzymes.
- There are a number of over-the-counter products available that use natural enzymes—bromelain (from pineapple) or papain (from papaya)
- Follow the dosage directions on the product label.
- To strengthen the gastrointestinal tract, try taking duodenal extract with vitamin A.
- Choose an herbal-based toothpaste or tooth powder formulated without sugar.
- Merfluan is a baking-soda-based tooth powder that is very popular in Europe.
- It comes in several different flavors.
- The Chinese patent medicine is a cabbage extract that helps to heal and strengthen the stomach lining.
- If bad breath originates from compromised stomach function, consider trying Fare You.

- Make a find powder of clove ,ginger and boil it in water to one and half and take this liquid five times every day for gargling

General Home Treatment
